Established last year near Jabil’s Huangpu site, the Jabil Employee Development International Institute (JEDII) facility provides education and training for up to 350 employees in Asia each year. This year's class graduated on April 26 2012.
The goal of the educational institute is to develop competitive, knowledgeable, and skilled employees committed to continuous improvement, learning and critical thinking. While living at the Institute, employees develop communication, presentation, and work cell meeting skills. Students also attend twice-daily English classes.
Graduate Qingyong Zhao was a Line Leader at Jabil Shanghai when he was chosen to attend JEDII.
“We have learned not only professional knowledge, but also -and more importantly- how to better understand Jabil culture and how to strive for the company’s and our own success in an effective way. I enjoyed the training and the life here. We are not only colleagues but also a family.”
Like other graduates, Quingyong will return to Jabil and take on new responsibilities as a Line Supervisor. By December 2012, the Institute expects to have trained 350 employees.
