The foundation of Jabil’s Respect. Recognize. Reward. program is built on a respectful work environment where everyone is empowered to contribute to the success of the company. The program’s goal is to discover, highlight and share employees’ superior performance and their commitment to helping others.
Employee recognition has always been an integral part of Jabil’s culture and, following our belief in empowerment, each site designed its local recognition program to fit its unique culture. When the Respect. Recognize. Reward. program was developed in 2010, it was critical that sites continue to run its local programs while at the same time, giving them the ability to submit exceptional employees for global recognition. This structure has resulted in hundreds of Jabil employees, from all departments, locations and functions, to be recognized and celebrated each quarter. Employees’ actions and results vary, but their contributions all support Jabil’s Guiding Principles.
As a Global Supply Chain Analyst at Jabil Huangpu, Cherry Peng is responsible for assuring her team has all the parts and components necessary to complete customer orders in a timely and efficient manner. Her pivotal role within the Supply Chain team has allowed the site to win several customer excellence awards over the past few years. She hopes to build upon these successes to gain more responsibilities in the future. “I’m always looking for a better way to improve existing processes,” says Cherry.
Another area which Cherry has made a significant impact is creating a team culture where employees support one another, build strong bonds and most importantly, have fun. She recently became the president of the BoYi Committee whose goal is to help ensure employees are connected and engaged outside of work. “All of us are like family — we look out for each other,” says Cherry.
In the future, Cherry hopes to travel across Europe to learn about different countries cultures and lifestyles. “Traveling allows me to explore all the places I’ve always dreamt of visiting,” she says. “It’s a good escape from my fast-paced life in Huangpu, too.”
Outside of work, Cherry enjoys living an active lifestyle with her friends. She recently started hiking as a way to get exercise and see China’s natural beauty. “My record is 40 miles, but that’s not my limit…, I’m just getting started,” she smiles.
