The foundation of Jabil’s Respect. Recognize. Reward. program is built on a respectful work environment where everyone is empowered to contribute to the success of the company. The program’s goal is to discover, highlight and share employees’ superior performance and their commitment to helping others.
Employee recognition has always been an integral part of Jabil’s culture and, following our belief in empowerment, each site designed its local recognition program to fit its unique culture. When the Respect. Recognize. Reward. program was developed in 2010, it was critical that sites continue to run its local programs while at the same time, giving them the ability to submit exceptional employees for global recognition. This structure has resulted in hundreds of Jabil employees, from all departments, locations and functions, to be recognized and celebrated each quarter. Employees’ actions and results vary, but their contributions all support Jabil’s Guiding Principles.
Greg Johnson understands the value of continuous improvement. That’s why as a Senior Automation Design Engineer at Nypro Chicago, he’s committed to designing and fabricating automation and related equipment to make an employee’s job safer and less complex. “I’m always looking for innovative ways to improve processes and increase company value,” said Greg. “As the manufacturing industry moves toward the ‘Factory of the Future’, designing and specifying automation will be a key component.”
Greg was recently recognized by the Respect. Recognize. Reward. program for helping acclimate a new employee to the site. He shared insight about the facility, molding equipment, and other processes he was familiar with in his previous role. By being inclusive and collaborative, the employee was on the fast track to success in their new role.
Outside of work, Greg is a motorcycle enthusiast. He spends most of his spare time riding, working on or building motorcycles. “I enjoy riding them throughout the countryside and on the racetrack — it feeds my adventurous side,” he says smiling. His motorcycle collection features mostly modern British bikes, but he says he loves all of them.
He also has an appetite to travel the world. The ‘Land Down Under’ has always fascinated Greg because of the variation of landscapes and seascapes. “I’ve never been to Australia, but it’s always been on my list of places to visit,” he says. “I’d love to explore the Great Barrier Reef, Ayers Rock, Kata Tjuta, and learn about the Aboriginal culture.”
