Culture of Respect

The foundation of Jabil’s Respect. Recognize. Reward. program is built on a respectful work environment where everyone is empowered to contribute to the success of the company. The program’s goal is to discover, highlight and share employees’ superior performance and their commitment to helping others.

Employee recognition has always been an integral part of Jabil’s culture and, following our belief in empowerment, each site designed its local recognition program to fit its unique culture. When the Respect. Recognize. Reward. program was developed in 2010, it was critical that sites continue to run its local programs while at the same time, giving them the ability to submit exceptional employees for global recognition. This structure has resulted in hundreds of Jabil employees, from all departments, locations and functions, to be recognized and celebrated each quarter. Employees’ actions and results vary, but their contributions all support Jabil’s Guiding Principles.

István Leads by Example at Work and in His Community

At Jabil Szombathely, Material Handler István Pásti leads the coordination of incoming material distribution and outgoing shipments. He’s also responsible for strategically organizing the warehouse to improve workflow efficiencies. “I’m always looking for a better solution, the right solution, to improve processes,” said István.

István’s seven years of experience with Jabil has made him a valued resource to his team and he was recently recognized globally for his contributions. “I still can’t believe it,” he says. “It makes me feel good that my manager and coworkers appreciate my ideas for continuous improvement.” Jabil’s “think creatively”and “challenge assumptions” culture, inspires István to achieve more in the future.

Outside of work, István enjoys tending to his extensive garden where he and his family grow a variety of fruit (apples, cherries and pears) and vegetables. “We try to eat as much homegrown food as possible — there is a sense of pride which comes with growing your own food,” he says. “It also allows me to spend time with my family doing something we love.”

István believes in giving back to his community. He oftentimes participates in volunteer activities in his local village - whether it’s improving public works, building public garages, or redecorating the local nursery and preschool, István is always willing to lend a helping hand.

István’s positive attitude, hard work and dedication is true inspiration to those at Jabil Szombathely and in his community.
