The foundation of Jabil’s Respect. Recognize. Reward. program is built on a respectful work environment where everyone is empowered to contribute to the success of the company. The program’s goal is to discover, highlight and share employees’ superior performance and their commitment to helping others.
Employee recognition has always been an integral part of Jabil’s culture and, following our belief in empowerment, each site designed its local recognition program to fit its unique culture. When the Respect. Recognize. Reward. program was developed in 2010, it was critical that sites continue to run its local programs while at the same time, giving them the ability to submit exceptional employees for global recognition. This structure has resulted in hundreds of Jabil employees, from all departments, locations and functions, to be recognized and celebrated each quarter. Employees’ actions and results vary, but their contributions all support Jabil’s Guiding Principles.
Monica Peredo Sanchez’s passion for bringing joy and happiness to others defines her as a person. That’s why she says the most rewarding part of her job in Human Resources at Jabil’s Guadalajara facility is the daily interaction with employees because she gets to develop a personal relationship with the employees help resolve their questions or concerns. “Jabil Guadalajara has developed a collaborative culture where all employees support and care for one another,” Monica says. “It’s truly a great sight to see.”
In fact, Monica was recently recognized globally for her commitment to employees. “I was really happy to receive this recognition — I shared the news with my family and they were extremely proud of me,” she says.
Another aspect of Jabil Guadalajara’s culture she loves is the community outreach initiatives, especially when children are involved. At a recent cooking event, she remembers seeing all kid’s smiling faces. “They looked incredibly happy and I felt good knowing I was part of their happiness,” she says.
As a devoted mother herself to a six-year-old daughter and a one-year-old little boy, she enjoys spending time with them at the movies or riding bicycles around the city. This gives Monica and her husband a chance to share the city’s vibrant culture with their kids.
Eventually, Monica hopes to travel to Venice and Dubai. “I hear they’re both fascinating cultures, but in stark contrast of one another,” she says. “Venice has classic a European vibe filled with rich history and Dubai features ultra-modern skyscrapers and quirky tourist destinations.”Whether it’s taking great care of employees or her family, Monica always has a smile on her face.
