The foundation of Jabil’s Respect. Recognize. Reward. program is built on a respectful work environment where everyone is empowered to contribute to the success of the company. The program’s goal is to discover, highlight and share employees’ superior performance and their commitment to helping others.
Employee recognition has always been an integral part of Jabil’s culture and, following our belief in empowerment, each site designed its local recognition program to fit its unique culture. When the Respect. Recognize. Reward. program was developed in 2010, it was critical that sites continue to run its local programs while at the same time, giving them the ability to submit exceptional employees for global recognition. This structure has resulted in hundreds of Jabil employees, from all departments, locations and functions, to be recognized and celebrated each quarter. Employees’ actions and results vary, but their contributions all support Jabil’s Guiding Principles.
Monika Florek strikes a perfect balance between her career and parenthood, spending most of her time outside of work with her four-year-old daughter. Together they enjoy being outdoors, whether it’s skipping rope or going on bike rides. “We love playing together in the local parks and playgrounds,” Monika says smiling. “It makes me feel like a kid again.”
That same sense of adventure fuels her ambition to someday travel to the United States to cross off one of her most dangerous bucket list items. “I’d love to go skydiving over the Grand Canyon,” she says. “I saw a scene from the movie ‘Jumper’ and have wanted to go ever since then.”
Another challenge Monika plans to accomplish is exploring different roles throughout Jabil and feed her ambition to progress within the company. “This recognition is only the beginning,” says Monika.
With over a decade of service at Jabil, Monika has demonstrated her ability to provide innovative solutions and dedication to continuous improvement activities at Nypro’s facility in Bray, Ireland, and she credits the site’s Value Stream Leader, Ciara McNeice, with always encouraging everyone to think creatively and voice their ideas.
Monika takes the same approach in her relationship with her daughter, “I hope to set a great example by being a hardworking and nurturing mother,” she says.
