Giving Back to the Community

Jabil Chihuahua is dedicated to the community in which it operates. Employees frequently engage in philanthropic activities to help those in need such as visiting the local children’s shelter around the holidays to spend time with the children, play games and serve dinner. The Chihuahua site also donates money to Teleton, a National Association dedicated to helping disabled children.

Jabil Chihuahua’s Social Responsibility Committee hosts several on-site events to help individuals in the local area. The site’s Solidarity Christmas is a food drive for “raramuris” among employees for native families that live in Chihuahua’s high sierra. The Social Responsibility Committee purchases blankets to be distributed during the cold winters. Native women from a local shelter come to the Jabil Chihuahua site to sell homemade dulce de leche (caramels) to employees for discounted rates. All proceeds go to the shelter to help pay the women’s living expenses. Similarly, Jabil Chihuahua hosts a Valentine’s Day Craft Sale in which a group of single mothers come to the site to sell crafts, flowers and other gifts to employees. Part of the sales are donated to the Social Responsibility Committee.
