Jabil CEO Meets Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Discuss Company’s Contribution to India’s Manufacturing and Innovation Growth
NEW DELHI – July 30, 2025 – Today Jabil Inc., a global leader in engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing solutions, announced that CEO Mike Dastoor met with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, on July 28, 2025. The high-level meeting, held at the Prime Minister's office in New Delhi, focused on strategic discussions about India's position as a global manufacturing hub and fostering innovation in the industry.
"India has emerged as a pivotal player in global manufacturing, and we are excited to leverage Jabil's expertise and advanced technologies to support India's vision of becoming a premier manufacturing destination," Dastoor said.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi and Dastoor discussed Jabil’s growth in the country. In March 2025, Jabil announced it would open a new factory in Gujarat to complement its existing site in Pune, Maharashtra, which employs more than 8,000 people and has been in operation since 2003. The Sanand, Gujarat, site is expected to manufacture electronics and silicon photonics solutions to support customers across industries such as cloud, compute, storage, networking, telecommunications, semiconductor capital equipment, and data center infrastructure.
Innovation was another key topic of discussion, with both leaders recognizing the critical role of companies like Jabil in developing cutting-edge technologies that drive economic growth. Prime Minister Modi underscored the Indian government’s efforts to create a conducive environment for bold ideas, including investments in research and development, skill development programs, and digital infrastructure. Dastoor reiterated Jabil’s focus on supporting growing high-tech industries, like silicon photonics, AI and cloud data centers, telecommunications, and medtech.
The discussions also touched upon the importance of job creation and talent development. "As Jabil expands its presence in India, we see significant opportunities to drive growth by developing local talent and building a highly skilled advanced manufacturing workforce," Dastoor said.
