Jabil Appoints European Executive

Jabil Circuit, Inc. (NYSE: JBL), a U.S.-headquartered electronics manufacturing services provider, today announced the appointment of Michel Charriau to Chief Operating Officer- Europe, effective immediately.

"We are delighted to have Michel on board. With approximately 35 percent of Jabil's revenues expected to come from our European operations in fiscal 2003, Michel will provide bandwidth and experience as we continue our growth throughout Europe," said Mark Mondello, Jabil's Chief Operating Officer. "Michel will work hand in hand with our current European staff, focusing on strategic planning, site integration, operations, and expanding our customer diversification." Charriau reports to Mondello.

Jabil is currently integrating six facilities purchased this year from Royal Philips Electronics and expects to complete the acquisition and transition of three additional Philips facilities in the next several months.

Charriau was most recently Executive Vice President of Philips Consumer Electronics and the Chief Executive Officer of Philips Contract Manufacturing Services, both divisions of Royal Philips Electronics. Charriau joined Philips in 1969 with the Semiconductor Division in France after graduating from Ecole Centrale de Lille with a degree in Engineering. Charriau held several executive positions with Philips, including Chief Purchasing Officer of Consumer Electronics and COO of Car Systems in Germany.
