Jabil Earns NEC Solution America's Favored Supplier Award

20 April 2005
St. Petersburg, FL

Forward - Looking Statement

Jabil Circuit, Inc. (NYSE: JBL) today announced that it has received NEC Solution America's Favored Supplier Award for reaching the 10,000-unit milestone in manufacturing NEC's high-performance data storage units.

The server family using these data storage units has been extraordinarily successful, according to Larry Sheffield, executive vice president of the Solutions Platform Group for NEC Solutions America. In the two years since Jabil was named NEC's manufacturing subcontractor for this product, he said, sales have nearly doubled initial projections.

"This success is due in no small part to the unique relationship we've forged with Jabil," Sheffield added. "Together, we have been able to make a product that delivers superior functionality at a very competitive price."

Jabil manufactures the products in its San Jose, California, and Livingston, Scotland, facilities under quality-control standards that are among the most stringent in the industry. NEC gave these Jabil plants near-perfect customer-satisfaction scores of 99.33 percent and 99.44 percent, respectively.

The Favored Supplier Award is an indication that NEC officials are delighted with the job Jabil is doing for them, noted Jabil Business Unit Manager Jim Treadway. "We're definitely contributing to their success - and it's our intention to continue doing so for many years to come."
