Rioch Walsh’s journey prior to working at Jabil’s Nypro Waterford site explains his appreciation of culture. Before getting his degree in engineering, Rioch backpacked throughout Australia for many months, working various jobs and adapting his skills to meet his travel fund needs. “It was a great adventure meeting and working with all different types of people,” he said. This preference to work with diverse people, whether it’s a difference in education, skill or ethnicity, is also what he likes best about the culture at the Waterford site. “What I enjoy most about my job is the culture and community created by the employees. Collectively, everyone is focused and driven toward achieving high-quality, innovative solutions for our customers, and it’s really a great atmosphere to work in,” Rioch said. Rioch’s ability to think creatively and quickly adapt his skillset, which are skills he learned while on his travels, has also proven useful as Value Stream Automation Lead. Rioch’s passion lies with finding innovative solutions to engineering problems. This also demonstrates how he contributes to the collaborative environment at work.
