Fast Prototyping at Jabil Blue Sky Italy

Jabil’s Italian Fast Prototyping Center is a full-service, rapid prototyping and low-volume assembly facility located in Jabil Blue Sky Italy in Marcianise. By co-locating this service capability in and integrating it with Design, Engineering, and Implementation services, it enables a holistic approach to all Jabil’s capabilities to support the accelerated process to new product introduction.

A set of comprehensive and advanced manufacturing and prototyping capabilities are offered:

  • Rapid prototyping of PCBAs and mechanical parts through 3D printing based on different technologies
  • Assembly and testing
  • Design and Engineering Services
  • A testing zone for prototype development designed to enhance speed-to-market
  • Leading-edge laboratory for reverse engineering and board repair

The innovative approach to the whole quotation and ordering process of PCBAs is managed through an online tool. The actual terms offered are completely transparent and available upon completion of the online price calculator. The final quotation is available in real time and, if accepted, the manufacturing process will start immediately. The order to assembly of your PCBAs will be completed within 10 working days (as stated in the terms & conditions).

To cover the full scope of prototyping services, Jabil offers Additive Manufacturing Solutions and related Services. Jabil applies Jabil research, product development and rapid prototyping with additive manufacturing technologies to streamline and ensure success of the projects for you.

The capabilities cover the state-of-the-art 3D printers for METAL, PLASTICS, RESIN and CELLULOSE and the services are addressed through three major streams:

  • Design, co-design and re-design activities in the view of Design-for-Additive Manufacturing
  • 3D Prototypes Prototyping (functional or not), mini-series and pre-series in a wide range of materials: plastic, metal and colored cellulose.
  • Research and development activities for materials and geometries optimized for additive manufacturing.
  • Redesign of components for additive manufacturing printing.

Jabil’s Italian Fast Prototyping Center has also started evaluation projects to introduce tools and methods to deliver virtual prototypes through Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality applications.
