Our dedicated design team has demonstrated capabilities and know-how with regards to molecular diagnostics knowledge development through our Nypro Healthcare PCR demonstrator platform. It operates through automatic fluidic bio-chip system owned by Professor Gwo-Bin Lee at the National Tsing-Hua University, Department of Power Mechanical Engineering. This system includes a temperature module equipped with a thermoelectric cooler for thermal regulation, a laser to excite fluorescent dyes, a band-pass filter and a dichroic mirror for filtering light, an optical sensor for collection of fluorescent signals, a collimating lens to focus and collect the fluorescence into the PMT, a data acquisition card to transform fluorescent signals into electronic signals, an air compressor to provide the required suction force, EMVs for controlling liquid transportation, a personal computer for EMV and temperature programming and a microfluidic chip for sample analysis. Generally, samples are analyzed through four processes: thermo-lysis and hybridization, specific DNA purification, PCR/amplification of extracted DNA and optical detection.
