The Digital Prototype Lab (DPL) officially opens on Monday - February 1 at the Jabil Blue Sky Center. This announcement has generated a great deal of interest and excitement and we are eager to demonstrate this new capability. With its global footprint under one functional team with six global centers of excellence operating though 4 D approaches, The Digital Prototype Lab (DPL) is a full-service, rapid prototyping facility created in collaboration between Radius and Jabil’s Engineering & Technology Services (ETS). It aims to provide world-class prototyping, testing, and analysis services to Blue Sky, all Jabil Business Units (BU), and to our combined global customer base.
Fitted with the latest state-of-the-art equipment, the DPL includes assembly, clean room, testing facilities, machine shop, 3D printing, CT scanning, and finishing areas. By co-locating this showpiece lab in the Jabil Blue Sky Center and integrating it with Radius research, design, engineering, and implementation services, we enable the integration of all of our great Jabil capabilities to support a more accelerated process. This includes technology capabilities resident in ETS, such as precision mechanics, optics, printed electronics, and automation, as well as the vertical market and development expertise that reside in each Jabil BU. The DPL adds competitive value to our global customer base by enabling the delivery of ideas, products, and solutions to market quicker by accelerating innovation and development— design, build, analyze, and test cycles. This represents an unmatched speed-to-market capability versus other worldwide competitor prototyping models. We call it Accelerated Product Introduction (API), and we are excited to demonstrate this new capability to the marketplace. See the excerpt below for API process.
