Jabil Named to IDG’s CIO 100 List for IT Excellence and Innovation

IDG’s CIO 100 Award Recognizes Jabil’s Unique Citizen Data Science Program

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – March 9, 2020 – Jabil (NYSE: JBL) today announced it has been named to IDG’s annual CIO 100 list of innovative organizations that exemplify the highest levels of operational and strategic excellence in IT. This prestigious honor celebrates companies and award-winning IT projects that deliver business value, optimize business processes, enable growth and create competitive advantages. Jabil’s Citizen Data Science Program was recognized for its ability to empower employees with data-based knowledge, tools and new approaches for solving real-world business problems.

“We are honored to be recognized by CIO for our commitment to extracting the maximum value from our data,” said Gary Cantrell, CIO and SVP of Information Technology for Jabil. “By democratizing the practice of data science, we’re enabling employees to untap powerful, actionable insights that reinforce our mission to be the world’s most technologically advanced and trusted manufacturer.”

To date, 160 employees have been trained on data-science modeling in partnership with the University of South Florida, The China Institute and the University of Malaysia. Positive business outcomes have been realized in as little as three months, as employees from finance, HR, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering and legal have collaborated on data-driven models to improve productivity, operational efficiency, cash flow and risk mitigation.

“Today’s most successful companies are using IT to deliver business value, whether by enabling growth, optimizing business processes, or improving relationships with customers,” said Adam Dennison, SVP & General Manager, IDG Events and Publisher, CIO. “We are honored to showcase the technology innovation shown by this year’s CIO 100 winners and look forward to celebrating their accomplishments at the CIO 100 Symposium & Awards Ceremony in August.”
