Jabil AOC Technologies Unveils In-House Coherent 100G/200G CFP2-DCO Products

Pleasanton, Cali., March 4, 2019 – AOC Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Jabil Inc. (NYSE: JBL), and a leading provider of customized end-to-end design, manufacturing, and test solutions for optical communication products, unveiled today a coherent 100G/200G CFP2-DCO product family.

Enabled by a next-generation silicon photonics (SiP) coherent engine, in collaboration with Jabil’s strategic partner Elenion Technologies, a developer of advanced photonic integrated circuit technologies, Jabil AOC’s CFP2-DCO products and Elenion’s highly-integrated Coherent Silicon Transmitter and Receiver (CSTAR) SiP engine are designed and manufactured in-house with state-of-art precision optical assembly and best-in-class manufacturing.

Jabil’s CFP2-DCO incorporates a 16nm CMOS low power digital signal processor (DSP), which supports not only the traditional 100G/200Gbps Metro, DCI, and long-haul DWDM applications, but also 100Gbps point-to-point (P2P) coherent transmission based on dual-polarization differential quadrature phase-shift keying (DP-DQPSK) over at least 40-km unamplified links for the access networks.

“Our new CFP2-DCO product family can support a wide range of networking applications”, said Cyril McKelvie, vice president and general manager of Jabil AOC Technologies.  “Jabil is committed to the strategic field of optical networking that streamlines supply chain thus enabling customers to focus on delivering differentiated value.”

This new CFP2-DCO product family will leverage proven SiP technology from Jabil’s successful CFP2-ACO joint venture with Elenion, combined with a vertically integrated cost structure and world-class manufacturing.

Jabil expects to start sampling customers with CFP2-DCO modules in the middle of 2019.
