Jabil Expands Global Aerospace Precision Machining Solutions with New State-Of-The-Art Facility in Indonesia

Marking a major expansion of Jabil’s Indonesian footprint, the Bandung facility will offer high-mix, low-volume, simple to medium complexity solutions for the aerospace industry 

Bandung, Indonesia – August 10, 2017 – Jabil Inc. (NYSE: JBL) announced today its entry into the aerospace precision machining market with the opening of its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Bandung, Indonesia. The facility, which offers affordable, high-mix, low-volume, simple to medium complexity solutions for the aerospace industry, also marks Jabil’s footprint expansion into Indonesia.

Located in the Bandung Teknopolis, the 90,000 square foot facility is an outgrowth of Jabil’s capabilities in machining, material science, and precision engineering. The facility houses advanced precision machining technologies as well as special processes and finishing. Parts manufactured at Jabil Bandung include metal components for aircraft systems such as valve components, fittings, fasteners, plates, brackets, small housings and forks.

Jabil Bandung currently employs about 100 employees and aims to create between 300-500 jobs in the local area over the next five to ten years. Jabil is also committed to investing in the workforce and plans to develop the local talent pool for future leadership roles with training and development opportunities.

Jabil Bandung was also designed and constructed with a focus on sustainability. The facility is in the process of setting up a process wastewater system which aims to recycle 100 percent of its wastewater. Other sustainable elements at the facility include optimized energy performance, water-efficient landscaping, as well as initiatives to reduce water consumption and to encourage employees to choose sustainable transportation options.
